We are currently seeking a Sr. DSP Firmware Engineer to join our dynamic team in Santa Clara as part of the LG R&D Lab organization.
We are looking for a Senior DSP Firmware engineer who can help us take our IoT and AI based product ideas to quick prototypes, as we work to realize our vision of enhanced connected home experience and advanced personalized experience for LG Electronics. We’re a growing team at the forefront of connected devices, computer vision, and AI applications within LG. We need you to help us develop the foundation for LG’s next generation of connected, personalized, AI based products.
As a DSP Firmware Engineer, this individual will be a core member of our Future Experience team, with emphasis on mapping audio/non-audio algorithms to firmware, assisting with hardware and system bring-up, performance characterization and tuning, and support of other team members.
Manage DSP tasks/ initiatives in the analysis, design, development and delivery of software solutions as an individual contribute with advanced knowledge within discipline
Work closely with systems engineers to design and implement DSP algorithms to meet constraints for latency, memory size, and power consumption
Implement DSP firmware to map high-level algorithms from Matlab/C to architecture-specific code, utilizing features such as SIMD, vector processing, assembly code, and caches
Analyze system performance to identify areas for optimization and inform chip architectural designs such as core selection, hardware accelerators, or custom instruction sets.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree +5 years of related experience; or a Master’s degree and 3+ years experience
3+ years of DSP firmware development as well as a strong background in DSP algorithms and embedded wireless systems.
Strong background in embedded software development using C/C++ and assembly languages.
Experience with professional software design tools and techniques including continuous integration, code reviews and planning and operating in an Agile Scrum environment.
Experience with other tools and systems including: Linux, RTOS, Software debuggers such as gdb, Git
Experience writing optimized DSP routines for vector / SIMD processors.
Experience with algorithms such as FFT, matrix operations, eigenvalue decomposition, SVD, MUSIC, or other complex linear algebra techniques
Good working knowledge of audio and acoustics
Experience with audio DSP is a big plus
Knowledge and experience of audio DSP reference platforms
Acoustic echo cancellation and beamforming
